Privacy policy
Oclo keeps your medication data on your phone. Here is exactly what is stored, what is not, and what the free version’s ads do. Effective October 13, 2026.
What Oclo stores
Your medications, reminders and dose history are saved only on your phone, in Oclo’s private storage. There is no account to create and no Oclo server that holds your list.
What we receive
RisuLabs LLC does not receive your medications, reminders, history or any health data from the app. We cannot read them, recover them or hand them over, because the app never sends them to us. Oclo never sends medication names, doses or history to Google or to ad networks either. If you email us, we receive your email address and what you write (if it mentions a medication or condition, we use that only to answer you). We use it only to reply and handle any follow-up, and we delete support emails 12 months after the last message in the conversation, or sooner if you ask, unless we need them longer to resolve a refund or legal dispute or to meet a legal obligation.
Who we are
Oclo is made by RisuLabs LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. For privacy questions, write to info@risulabs.com.
Ads
The free version shows small banner ads from Google AdMob on the Medications and History screens, never on a reminder and never in the first 7 days after you first set up Oclo (the ad choice message may appear earlier). Ads are always non-personalized, and the ad content is limited to the family-friendly “G” rating. To deliver them, Google may process your device’s advertising identifier, IP address and basic device and app information, as described in Google’s privacy policy (policies.google.com/technologies/ads). Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and some US states, Oclo shows a consent or opt-out message first. You can change that choice later from the ad privacy choices entry in Settings, and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Android’s settings. Oclo Plus removes the ads.
This website
This website does not use accounts, advertising or analytics cookies. The free tools and printables run in your browser; what you type into a tool is not sent to us or saved. Our hosting provider may keep ordinary server logs (such as IP address and page requested) for security and operation.
Permissions
Oclo asks for notifications so it can remind you, and may ask to show a reminder over the lock screen. It uses exact alarms and restarts after a reboot so reminders stay on time, and internet access for ads, the consent message and purchases. It does not ask for your location, contacts, microphone or camera. If you add a photo of a pill, Oclo hands the job to your camera or photo app, and the picture is kept in Oclo’s private storage on your phone.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. Removing a medication deletes it from Oclo, and uninstalling Oclo or clearing its storage deletes everything Oclo holds. Backup files you saved elsewhere, and any Android backup kept by Google, are under your control; delete them to remove those copies. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Your rights
Because RisuLabs LLC does not hold your personal data, there is usually nothing for us to give you, correct or erase. You can still ask us about this policy at any time. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have rights to access, correct, erase and restrict data, to object to processing and to withdraw consent, and you may complain to your data protection authority. Ad consent is the only consent Oclo asks for, and you can withdraw it in Settings. If you live in a US state with a privacy law, such as California, you have similar rights over data a business holds about you. We do not sell personal data. Google’s ad processing (identifiers such as your advertising ID and IP address, and internet activity such as ad requests) may count as “sharing” or “targeted advertising” under some state laws; use the ad privacy choices in Settings to opt out. Google processes ad data under its own policy, and may do so outside your country.
Legal bases and recipients
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland: we rely on your consent for ads where it is required, on our legitimate interest in running this website and answering your email, and on performing our contract with you for an Oclo Plus purchase. The companies that may receive data are Google (AdMob, the consent message, Google Play and Android backup) and our website hosting provider. They may process data in the United States or elsewhere, under safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you in a portable format, which for most people is none.
Children
Oclo is a tool for adults and caregivers and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where that is the age of digital consent). We do not knowingly collect data from children. Oclo is intended for users 13 and over.
Purchases
Oclo Plus is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play. We see that your purchase is active, not your name, card or address.
Backups
Oclo can use Android’s automatic backup, which is on only when it is end-to-end encrypted by your screen lock. You can turn Android backup off in Settings. You can also save a backup file (.oclo), which is encrypted with a password you choose. If you skip the password, the file is not encrypted and anyone who has it can read it. Files you export or share, such as a PDF or CSV, leave Oclo and are under your control. We cannot open any of these.
Not medical advice
Oclo is a reminder and logging tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or advise. Follow your doctor’s or pharmacist’s instructions.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Oclo handles data, we will update this page and its date, and describe what changed in the Oclo release notes. Our terms of service are at /terms.
